Clinical Programmes

The clinical programmes initiative launched in 2007 is another step forward in our quality journey and marks the beginning of a new era in the provision of a truly integrated and seamless, patient-focused health care.

Lead by senior healthcare leaders each of our eight clinical programmes is designed to be integrated horizontally through all our hospitals in Singapore. A nurse leader assists each Clinical Programme Leader. Each clinical programme will also use Care Co-ordinators to ensure that care is orchestrated around the patient and all the patient needs are met.

The clinical programmes serve as a platform for the provision of excellent patient care. Each clinical programme is lead by a senior healthcare leader who is held responsible for the development of that particular clinical programme and for ensuring that all the elements required to be on the platform for the provision of care in these specialities are in place.

Each clinical programme works with the specialists in the particular programme to decide on the clinical outcome measures they want to use. Since October 2007, each programme is measured on at least two outcome measures. All accredited specialists are welcome to participate in the clinical programmes. The clinical programme initiative promises to be the foundation from which our hospitals can move to even greater heights of clinical quality.
